In honor of the moral courage it took for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr to lead against injustice and on behalf of the Connecticut Parents Union (CTPU), you are cordially invited to attend the Connecticut Parents Union 8th Anniversary and Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration – The Time Is Always Right To Do Right By Children.

The event is on Monday January 21, 12:00pm to 3:00pm, at Hartford City Hall, 550 Main Street.  A light lunch will be served from 11:15am – 11:45am. RiShawn Biddle, a columnist and award-winning editorialist, will deliver a keynote address.

After the keynote, we’ll host a community conversation to discuss children-first solutions to include parent rights, school safety, and on-going racial injustice in Connecticut schools, moderated by Mona Davids, an educational policy advisor from New York. The discussion will focus on the moral courage needed to ensure the academic and life success for all Connecticut children.

The CTPU award ceremony will immediately follow the community conversation.
